AAMcEvoy is an organic childrenswear brand which is designed and made in Ireland. The brand was set up in early 2017 by Alison McEvoy, who is an LSAD Fashion Design and The National Tailoring Academy graduate. Laois native Alison is mother to Annie who is three and also her model.
Alison began planning AAMcEvoy when Annie was born in 2015. She compiled a list of ‘pet- hates’ around the clothing that she encountered. Some of these were the pink/blue stereotyping, clothing not taking ‘long- babies’ into account and lots of tiny buttons down the back of newborn clothing which is totally impractical. Another was tricky neck openings. When trying to dress a child who does not want to be dressed- less is more! So Alison turned these into her brand goals; Super comfortable, practical design and made in Ireland.
AAMcEvoy are an ethical and sustainable brand. The whole idea behind AAMcEvoy was to create a brand with integrity, ethics and is as minimal with packaging as possible.
At AAMcEvoy, the focus is on quality, craftsmanship and super soft cloth. AAMcEvoy products are future heirlooms.
The design aesthetic is mostly unisex. It’s also very practical as they don’t use buttons, snaps or velcro, instead the products feature an envelope neck at all neck openings.
Some products include pants with turn-ups (this extends the life of the clothing as they can be rolled down when baby grows, they are also really practical for long babies. They also have baby blankets, tops, jumpers, neck warmers and dresses. AAMcEvoy bestsellers include their envelope neck bib, neck warmer and leggings with feet. The range of styles is expanding for autumn winter 2019.
Alison, owner and designer of AAMcEvoy was a finalist in the DCCOI Future Makers 2018, Design Leader in Fashion- Childrenswear at the All-Ireland Business Summit 2018, and shortlisted for the Irish Made Awards in 2017 and 2018.
We are over the moon to have customers who love the quality and the softness of our clothing like Angela Scanlon, new mama Vogue Williams and super-model mama Coco Rocha.
